1) For current LPCE mentors


Referencing Your LPCE Mentorship


We are grateful for the time and expertise our mentors contribute to Harvard students. Current LPCE mentors are welcome to reference their mentorship with LPCE as part of their volunteer experience, provided that the affiliation is described accurately and does not imply that Harvard endorses or employs the mentor.


On LinkedIn, we recommend:

 

  • Listing your LPCE mentorship under Volunteer Experience, rather than under Experience/Employment.

  • Using a factual description such as “Volunteer Mentor, Lemann Program on Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Harvard College.”

  • Describing your role and contributions factually, without suggesting that you are a Harvard employee, representative, or official spokesperson.
     

Please do not:

 

  • List LPCE mentorship as a paid or employment experience.

  • Use “Harvard Mentor,” “Harvard Mentor at LPCE,” or similar language as your LinkedIn headline, professional title, or primary position.

  • Represent yourself as a Harvard employee, official representative, or spokesperson.

  • Use Harvard logos or shields on personal or third-party professional materials without appropriate authorization.

  • Use your LPCE or Harvard affiliation to promote a business, product, service, or other outside activity in a way that could imply Harvard endorsement.


For example, a LinkedIn headline such as “Entrepreneur | Harvard Mentor | Investor” should not be used. Instead, your headline should reflect your primary professional role, while your LPCE mentorship can be listed separately in the Volunteer Experience section.


Harvard's policies emphasize accurate representation and non-endorsement. When Harvard affiliation is referenced in connection with outside activities, it should not suggest that the individual is speaking or acting on behalf of Harvard.

2) Interested in becoming an LPCE Mentor?


Share Your Expertise with Harvard Students


LPCE mentors bring professional experience, subject-matter expertise, networks, and perspectives that can help students move their ideas forward.


We are interested in mentors who are excited to work with undergraduate students and can provide thoughtful, constructive guidance on areas such as entrepreneurship, creativity, venture development, social impact, technology, fundraising, leadership, product development, or other relevant fields.


Mentorship opportunities are connected to specific LPCE programs and are based on student needs and program capacity. Completing the questionnaire does not guarantee a mentoring placement.


Mentor Interest Questionnaire


Please provide the following information:

 

  1. Full name

  2. Current professional title and organization

  3. Professional website and/or LinkedIn profile

  4. Email address

  5. What is your current affiliation with Harvard, if any? Please describe your affiliation accurately, including the Harvard school, unit, program, or other relationship and whether the affiliation is current or historical.

  6. Have you previously worked with LPCE or another Harvard program? If yes, please describe your role and the approximate dates.

  7. Briefly describe your professional background and areas of expertise.

  8. What can you contribute to LPCE students? Please describe the types of guidance, expertise, connections, feedback, or other support you would be able to provide.

  9. What types of student projects or ventures are you most interested in mentoring?

  10. What industries, fields, or areas of expertise are you particularly comfortable advising on?

  11. What is your preferred mentoring format?

    • In person

    • Either

  12. What level of time commitment could you reasonably offer during a semester?

  13. Are there particular days or times when you are generally available?

  14. Are you comfortable mentoring undergraduate students who may be at an early stage of developing an idea or venture?

  15. Are there any conflicts of interest, organizational restrictions, or other considerations LPCE should be aware of?

  16. Is there anything else you would like us to know about your interest in mentoring LPCE students?​

LPCE reviews mentor submissions based on current student needs, program fit, relevant expertise, availability, and our overall mentor capacity. We may contact you when an appropriate opportunity becomes available.


A Note on Harvard affiliation


If you have an existing Harvard affiliation, please describe it accurately in the questionnaire. Participation in an LPCE mentoring program does not make someone a Harvard employee, representative, or spokesperson.
Mentors should also follow Harvard's policies regarding use of the University's name, trademarks, logos, and affiliations.
