Dear LPCE Guest Speakers,

​

We’re excited to welcome you to our classroom community. Please review the following guidelines and expectations to ensure a smooth and impactful experience:

 

1. We are located at the Science Center Classroom 418D. Please take the elevator to the 4th floor, turn right, and walk to the end of the hallway. Open the double doors, and you’ll see the entrance.

​

2. Address: 1 Oxford Street, Cambridge, MA 02138.

​

3. We kindly ask you to arrive at around 8:30 AM to set up your deck for the classroom. 

​

4. Our class session goes from 9:15 AM to 11:45 AM ET. Please see the timeline below:

​a. 8:30 - 9:00 AM ET, check deck and sound system (if applicable)

b. 8:55 - 9:04 AM ET, students' arrival window

c. 9:05 - 9:10 AM ET, students fill out response paper for attendance tracking

d. 9:10 AM - 9:15 AM ET, teaching team introduces guest speaker with your official biography

e. 9:15 - 10:30 AM ET, class session

f. 10:30 - 10:40 AM ET, suggested break

g. 10:40 - 11:45 AM ET, class session

5. Before the Semester Begins, please send us the following materials:

  • Your presentation deck

    • You may edit your slides until two days before your session. Please email us the final version two days prior so we can upload it to Canvas after your lecture

  • Reading list (PDFs or web links)

  • Biography to be shared with students in class

  • Deadlines:​

    • If you are a guest speaker in the Fall term, please share all materials before August 15th

    • If you are a guest speaker in the Spring term, please share all materials before January 15th

6. Title and Affiliation. Your official LPCE designation is:

  • CE 10 Guest Speaker or

  • CE 11 Guest Speaker or

  • LPCE Guest Speaker

​

7. Please note: NO other professional titles or affiliations may be used in association with your talk. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Visiting Lecturer at Harvard College

  • Visiting Lecturer at Harvard University

  • Harvard Visiting Lecturer

  • Harvard Lecturer

  • Harvard Professor

  • Harvard College Professor

  • Lecturer

  • Visiting Lecturer

8. These titles listed in the above bullet points (such as Visiting Lecturer or Harvard Professor) are reserved for formal academic appointments within Harvard University and must not be used unless the University has officially conferred them.

​

9. If you wish to reference your affiliation with LPCE on LinkedIn, your biography, personal website, or any other platform, you must adhere to the above guidelines.

​

10. You’ll receive a “Guest Speaker Agreement” by email from our Department Administrator. Please review and sign it before the start of the semester.

​
